Before committing to permanent makeup (PMU), it's important to understand what exactly you're getting into.

Permanent makeup is a form of tattooing that focuses on natural-looking cosmetic enhancements. Unlike traditional tattoo artists, PMU artists are trained to work very shallow in delicate areas of the skin. While it is considered permanent makeup, know that it will fade over time and touch-ups will be needed periodically in order to keep the color looking fresh. The time period needed between touch-ups varies for each person, but you should be able to get roughly 1-2 years out of your PMU before needing a color refresh.
